As a Chemical Engineer/ Chemist in the Bioink Department, your main task will be the development of new bioinks and optimization of existing processes. You will take responsibility for chemical synthesis and get the opportunity to independently develop and establish new materials so that they can be used for 3D printing. You will interface with chemists, biochemists, and biotech experts to develop an integrated experimental and production pipeline for reliable bioinks. You will have an impact, shaping the company through your efforts, scientific experience and industry expertise.
- Solve chemistry & process challenges using high-throughput technology and automation
Responsibility for chemical synthesis of bioinks & other own projects
Evaluate novel technologies and enhance pre-existing bioink workflows and/or introduce new capabilities, process monitoring & quality control
Expand the capabilities of the department and resolve scientific and technical challenges
Training & supervision of interns & student workers,
collaboration with a chemical technical assistant
Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree & four years of scientific experience in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering, life science or comparable directions with a strong focus on biopolymers and organic chemistry
Experience in synthesis of biopolymers and proteins
Experience in analytical techniques such as NMR, HPLC, GC, and MS
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
Good German & English language skills
Experience in bioprinting, biotechnology and bioink production is a plus
